Ms. Wang Rui specializes in corporate legal affairs and foreign direct investment in China.
Ms. Wang has represented many international and domestic companies in their investments in China in the areas of sports, media, internet, software manufacturing, automobiles, and construction design. She has extensive experience in representing domestic and foreign investors in cross-border commercial transactions, and providing comprehensive legal advice to both Chinese and foreign-invested enterprises.
When King & Wood was retained by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) as its legal counsel in 2002, Ms. Wang worked as one of the chief coordinators of the firm's Olympics team. The legal services she provided to BOCOG included document preparation, participating in negotiations, and rendering legal opinions, in the areas of marketing, broadcasting, cultural events and entertainment, technology, and intellectual property rights protection.
Work Experience
Ms. Wang Rui joined King & Wood in 2000.
She obtained a dual LL.B. and B.A. in economics from Peking University. She then received a Master's Degree in Common Law from the University of Hong Kong as well as an LL.M. from Stanford University. She is licensed to practice PRC law and act as a sports agent in China. Ms. Wang is proficient in Chinese and English.
