Mr. Zhang Shouzhi specializes in litigation and arbitration.
Mr. Zhang has a wealth of practical experience in litigation and arbitration pertaining to trade, investment, finance, engineering and construction, intellectual property disputes and product liability. He has participated in numerous litigations representing multinationals, state-owned enterprises, state-owned banks, and foreign-invested banks; and has represented a number of clients in arbitration cases at the China International Economics and Trade Arbitration Commission, the Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration in Stockholm, Sweden, the International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center, the Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations Ltd; the Refined Sugar Association of London; the Grain and Feed Trade Association in London and the Liverpool Cotton Association. He has handled cases in connection with international trade, foreign-invested enterprises, company equity, infrastructure project finance contracts, engineering contracts, intellectual property, international commercial loans and debt guarantees, bills, letters of credit, bills of lading and product liability, among others.
Mr. Zhang Shouzhi regularly represents large-scale enterprises, energy companies, construction companies and foreign-invested banks as corporate counsel, advising on corporate investments, project negotiations, financing, international project contracting. He has advised on over 30 cases of foreign-invested corporate establishment and infrastructure projects, and over 10 large-scale equipment import-export contracts.
Zhang Shouzhi has a wealth of practical experience in CMD purchase and sale agreement negotiations, having represented clients from the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Denmark and Japan in project negotiations.
Work Experience
Zhang Shouzhi joined King & Wood in 1999. Prior to joining the Firm, he was head of the International Affairs Department at Shandong International Law Firm. Mr. Zhang is a member of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission and a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Arbitrators.
Mr. Zhang graduated from East China College of Political Science and Law Department of International Economic Law, attaining his LL.B., whereupon he attended the School of Oriental and African Studies, the University of London. He trained at Herbert Smith and Essex Court Chambers in London, and practiced at the Hong Kong office of Herbert Smith. Mr. Zhang qualified in the PRC in 1990. His working languages are Chinese and English.
