Denning (Liyu) Jin specializes in patent litigation, commercial litigation and international arbitration.

Mr. Jin has 20 years of experience in commercial litigation and arbitration in China. He has rich experience in patent litigation and invalidation proceedings in the mechanical, automotive, electrical, pharmaceutical and chemical areas. He also litigates on the protection of trademarks, copyright and trade secrets, as well as on generic commercial cases. He is familiar with international business transactions including foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, PE investment, international trade, international licensing, etc.. He practices international commercial arbitration before China International Economic & Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), ICC International Court of Arbitration, and Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC). He is experienced in dispute resolution in insurance-related claims, and excels in representing clients when facing cases brought by a massive group of parties involving product liability, professional malpractice liability, property loss, and bodily injuries. Denning also advises on issues under Chinese competition and antimonopoly law, criminal law, environment protection law and administrative law, and advocates for clients in hearing for administrative penalties and criminal sanctions.
Mr. Jin joined King & Wood Mallesons in 1996. He chairs the dispute resolution practice in King & Wood Mallesons Shanghai office.
He is an arbitrator of CIETAC, SHIAC and Shanghai Arbitration Commission, a member of the 9th Council of Shanghai Bar Association, a people’s representative of the 14th and 15th People’s Congress of Changning District, Shanghai Municipality, and also a member of the Internal and Judicial Affairs Committee. He is also engaged as the member of the Advisory Committee and Adjunct Professor of the Lawyer’s Academy of East China University of Political Science and Law, and a part-time Master Tutor of KoGuan Law School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
He obtained his LL.B from East China University of Political Science and Law in 1993, and later he obtained his LL.M degrees respectively from University of International Business and Economics and Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to the Chinese bar.
